Infrared Sauna

What is an Infrared Sauna and how does it work?

An Infrared Sauna uses infrared light to directly warm the body itself, essentially heating you up from the inside out rather than feeling the heat around you. Infrared light is a type of energy your eyes can’t see, but your body can feel as heat. An Infrared Sauna uses infrared heaters to emit infrared light, experienced as radiant heat which is then absorbed by the surface of the skin.

A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air around you, so, as the Infrared Sauna is different from a traditional Sauna, one of the first things you will notice when you first enter is that you are not hit with a wave of heat, but rather the heat will build up and you will feel it throughout your session. As this is a two person Sauna, you may either bring someone along to experience it with you or enjoy some well deserved alone time to sit back and relax and rejuvenate!

This is an essential treatment as part of an integrated Longevity Wellness programme.

Infrared Sauna Features

One of the first things that you will notice when you enter an Infrared sauna is that it is not hot. If you are familiar with traditional steam saunas, you are blasted with hot air as soon as you enter and may start sweating almost immediately. However, with Infrared Saunas, it may take you a couple of minutes to really feel the heat, and you may not start sweating until the end of your session.

Comparatively to a traditional steam sauna, the aim of an Infrared sauna is not to sweat at all your toxins, but rather target your core for a variety of different benefits and results. Infrared Saunas employ cutting-edge therapy to induce internal heat within the body, directing only a minimal portion of the heat towards the surrounding air. This leads to a more profound perspiration experience at a reduced ambient air temperature.
