Benefits of Cryotherapy

There are lots of benefits to cryotherapy, and Get A Drip could talk about them all day, but we want to make this quick and easy for you! So, here are the key benefits that you can experience.

1. Improved Mental Well-Being

Cryotherapy can help improve your mental well-being. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression or stress, cryotherapy sessions can ease your mind. Exposure to the extremely cold conditions can cause the body to release adrenaline and endorphins which impact mood.

2. Recovery From Injuries

If you’re suffering from an injury caused by playing sports, work or similar, cryotherapy can help. Regular cryotherapy sessions can help with reducing swelling and inflammation. For athletes, cryotherapy is particularly good because it also helps heal tender and painful muscles.

3. Pain Management

If you are experiencing pain because of a condition or injury, it can be aided with cryotherapy by reducing the number of pain signals your brain receives, and cryotherapy also reduces inflammation. As a result of this, you can experience ease in pain after each session. Arthritis, migraines, fibromyalgia, are just some of the painful conditions, this treatment can help.

4. Weight Loss

Cryotherapy can also help you if you are on a weight loss journey, as exposure to extremely cold temperatures burns calories and boosts your metabolic rate. So, you can feel energised after the session, and after more than one, you will start to see and feel a difference in weight. However, it won’t work on its own, you will still need a balanced diet and exercise of course!

Across the world, cryotherapy is used for sports, medical purposes or just to support your everyday health & wellness – it’s the perfect solution.

How Does Cryotherapy Work?

Very cold temperatures are able to constrict the blood vessels and in doing so, blood moves away from your limbs and goes towards the body’s organs. This then increases oxygen and anti-inflammatory proteins while helping to reduce inflammation, decrease stress, improve sleep, increase metabolism, enhance immune function & speed up recovery among many other benefits.
